Proposal guidelines

Researchers interested in proposing a project for inclusion within the OCHS research programme should send a pre-proposal to the OCHS including the following:

  1. Lead names with short biodata
  2. Project summary, addressing:
    • research question
    • sources and methods
    • research methods
    • research goals
    • research context
    • implications for the broader development of research in the field.
  3. Intended research output (seminars, symposia, publication, etc.)
  4. Schedule and time-frame for outputs and completion
  5. Projected needs for implementing the project

Procedure for establishing OCHS research projects

The proposal will be considered by the Academic Planning Committee of the OCHS, and if it fits well with the rubric of the research streams then this will be discussed in greater detail with the researcher, and a full proposal invited. If this is accepted then a letter of agreement will be sent, term reports on the project will be reviewed, a website created and maintained to share the ongoing products of the project (reports, recordings of presentations, proceedings of symposia and conferences, reference to articles, publications, etc.)
