Sharvi Maheshwari is a graduate reading for MPhil in Classical Indian Religion at Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Oxford.
Completing her undergraduate studies in History from Miranda House, University of Delhi, she pursued her MA degree in Religious Arts of Asia from SOAS, University of London.
Sharvi is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer and has been learning the classical art form from the age of 3 under the guidance of Padma Vibhushan, Padmashree Awardee, and Dr Yamini Krishnamurthy. She has completed her formal training both through a degree in B.A., and Bharatnatyam (Performing Arts) under “Prayag Sangeet Samiti”, Allahabad University with First Division and Guru-Shishya Parampara.
Sharvi is also an avid debater and writer. She has presented her research essays at various educational institutions like The Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations, George Washington University Rhetoric Conference, Lady Shri Ram College, Miranda House, Gargi College, and OP Jindal Law School. She was the Head of Human Resources and Media Operations of DU Beat, India’s largest independent student-run media organization.
Sharvi has worked intensively at various NGOs and wrote a research article on the refugee areas in Delhi focusing on their food history.
