Daniela Izaguirre Goswami

Daniela Izaguirre Goswami is a Peruvian artist and researcher with a focus on Painting and Theatre. Drawing on methodologies from dramaturgical exercises, she builds structures of meaning from the inside out.  Growing up in Peru – a pluralistic land of oracles and mystical by birth right – she has come to understand culture as a bridge and ground for fruitful encounters.

Her artistic practice includes projects such as All The Things They Carried, TODAS LAS COSAS, NAQR, and Instructions On How To Wear a Pollution Mask. Her work has been exhibited in New York, Beijing, and Lima. Her work is part of international public and private collections.

As an Associate Artist with the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies, Daniela brings her longstanding interest in South Asian art and architecture and in interfaith dialogue with Hinduism. With philosophical curiosity about what constitutes the poetic, the human person and the spirituality of people from different religions, she delves into the sacred realities of others to find a common poetic experience. This ‘poiesis’ is enriched by the influence of her Peruvian Nikkei cultural heritage and now that of her interfaith multicultural family.
